Japonski is one of our most-popular photo taking stops as the bridge gives you an opportunity to get up close to the eagles that are often at eye level as you top the bridge. Sea lions, whales, otter and more can frequently be seen as we explore the coastal waterways of Japonski island.

Connected to Sitka by O'Connell Bridge, Japonski Island is host to the Sitka Airport, University of Alaska and the United States Coast Guard Station.

It is also host to many buildings and left over relics from WWII when Sitka was an important military base.
